Feature Requests Soundbox

There is so much potential in this player/sampler/plugin.
I just wanted to create thread for some suggestions, to have them collected in one place :slight_smile:

  • Granular delay FX
  • As others have mentioned, round robins so more deeply sample instruments can be created
  • In the arp section, would be awesome to have Chord capabilities, like stepic or those falcon 3.0 arp scriptsā€¦
  • A morph system similar to Klevgrands Tomofon
  • Timestretch
  • Advanced mode for the FX (maybe different distortion algorithms for example)
  • Internal synth
  • Not sure if needed, but maybe an ā€œunlockedā€ mode where we could add more layers (like an experimental feature, as I understand cpu usage would increaseā€¦)
  • Some kinda phrase player where we can create our own phrases (kinda like Kontakt 8, but with the option to create our own)
  • I the arp and/or the step sequencer, only advance the steps when a note is pressed (meaning, not synced to anything).

Just some random thoughts. Just excited about soundbox, whatever you feel like doing :smiley:
As I understand it is a great way for anyone to create their own instruments, so it already is great. But some advanced options could put it over the edge as an alternative to kontakt etc., maybe if you get some instrument makers (like impact soundworks, soundiron) or whatever you like. :smiley:

Either way, following this plugin with excitement, like the clear.

*I see others mentioning (in other forums) itā€™s not as advanced as X or missing features from Y etc, however the potential is there. Just adding comb filters for example could maybe open up physical modeling capabilities? Itā€™s a great product, just need a bit more push to ā€œwinā€.

Another thought: a keyswitch feature/range, so we could switch to different groups via keyswitches, so we can add articulations.
I addition (i know itā€™s a stretchā€¦) but maybe an additional row in the arp to choose which keyswitch should be used for that step?

Thanks for taking the time to offer your suggestions. Soundbox was specifically designed for our own Instruments and any additional features would be based on our upcoming libraries.

But, having the audio/mapping editor fully unlocked has led to reach a way larger audience that we anticipated. As a result we will have move towards this direction, a separate post will be made on the main channel here. If you have more suggestions we are always happy to receive them.

Btw, could you clarify about ā€˜Using semitones in the arpā€™ ?

Glad to hear you are finding a bigger audience than anticipated :slight_smile:

What I meant was, currently we can select and octave in the arp. But maybe if we could also select just a semitone (between 1 and 12) in addition to an octave? For making ā€œmelodiesā€ by just holding one note. (just a random thought).

Understood.

We have many MIDI tools that we could incorporate to Soundbox, eventually creating Riffs, Melodies and Chords. We are exploring all our options.
