Congrats on the hardwork that went into the release of the free player variant of Soundbox! You guys are now one step closer to making me want to make sample libraries exclusively in Soundbox now that my followers can access content I make using this tool.
I was just wondering what the roadmap looks like for Soundbox? There’s a lot of really great feature requests and I think we’re all dying to know what the timeline looks like for the next phase of Soundbox (macro knobs, improved modulation, round robins, etc).
I’ve got a lot of ideas for some amazing sample libraries but having some of these features would seriously take the libraries to the next level. I’ve been deliberating whether it’s worth it to start making these libraries now or hold out in the event that some of these implementations are right around the corner.
Thanks and keep up the great work!

Hi @GourlieRecords ,
Thanks for reaching out. We’ve received a lot of exciting requests for Soundbox, and with the Player version, the interest has grown even more.
Some third-party developers have already released impressive libraries, and we couldn’t be more thrilled
We’re committed to continuously improving Soundbox by adding features based on user feedback. The more frequently a feature is requested, the higher it moves on our priority list.
Currently, we’re working on integrating a new time-stretching algorithm to enable the app to host loops effectively, perhaps similar to how loops are handled in our Loopmix app.
Then, modulation and round robins alongside with some effect improvements are in our to-do list.

Hi, congratulations on Soundbox!!
As an MD for live shows I spend a lot of time creating custom sample banks of sounds to playback from laptops, usually in place of directly using softsynths. For this reason I was REALLY excited to discover soundbox and I see it as a real alternative to the K word, which up to this point I use extensively for this purpose. I love the design of soundbox, a great balance of elegant easy to get to controls with deeper stuff when you need it. However, specific to my use case, there are some things I would love to know how to do, or hopefully add to a feature wish list!
- ability to drop multiple samples into the editor and have some method of reading note number / name from the file name?
- ability to craft the shape of the envelope stages? For me, the release seems to cut off abruptly at the end of long release times (funnily enough in the same way that Kontakt does) but its jarring for long pads.
- polyphonic LFOs
- more clarity about how and where samples are stored and what happens when you move them between systems
But i LOVE this product. Thankyou for developing it!

Hi @mattrobertson ,
Thanks for reaching out.
• The option to drop multiple samples into the editor is already there, you can also adjust the sample range by moving the mouse up or down before dropping the files into the mapping editor.
Currently there is no method of reading note number / name from the file name, but its added to the to-do list.
• We will check this and adjust the release of the envelope.
• Polyphonic LFOs has also been requested, we will see how easy it is to add this to one of the next updates.
• Samples are saved to the default library location by default. You can change this in the Settings tab under the “Default Library Location” option. This will move your entire library to the newly selected drive location, which will then be used for storing samples and new instruments going forward.
Hope this helps!
