I refuse to pay to have the ability to use the software I already paid for.
Has anyone else found a solution to relocating samples that were moved due to a reformat of Windows or literally any other myriad of reasons why someone might move their samples? This is really annoying. Thanks.
We’re sorry to hear that this is your perception, but that’s not how Playbeat functions.
Upgrading solely to move your library to a custom location won’t achieve the result you’re expecting. The latest version of Playbeat (version 4) is a completely new application and plugin, built from the ground up with a range of new features - one of which is the ability to relocate your sample content.
While this functionality is available in the new version 4, it’s not possible to implement in Playbeat 3 due to structural limitations.
That said, Playbeat 3 remains fully operational and compatible with all modern operating systems and you do not need to pay anything to continue using it as a separate app. In fact, both Playbeat 3 and 4 can run simultaneously in a project as they are different plugins.
If relocating content is the only reason you’re considering the upgrade, it might suggest either that the new version hasn’t been explored fully yet, or that we haven’t done a good enough job communicating its expanded capabilities through the trial version and/or tutorial videos.
