Hi Audiomodern,
Will the up coming Playbeat 4, be able to import N.I Battery Kits?
I read in one of topics, can’t remember which one, somebody asking would it possible to import the Kontakt Sampler format to load samples in SoundBox?..and the reply was that it could be possible.
So just asking if Playbeat 4 could load Battery Kits? starting from the early versions of N.I Battery!
Playbeat 4 does not have to load ALL the samples. Only the amount it can handle.
Thanks
We’re not sure about this.
Both Battery kits and MIDI files would need to be imported in the same format as PB4 will handle and export patterns. It is not impossible though, but it is not our number one priority for the new version.
We do have a fully functional version now and this will be tested within the next days.

I’m pretty sure Battery follows the normal Midi Drum Standard, and the user replaces whatever sample they want in there.
Playbeat just needs to read the Midi Drum Standard, i.e
C1 - Drum Kick
C#1 - Side Stick
D1 - Acoustic Snare
D#1 - Hand Clap
etc…then we the user can replace what sample we want. It would make it easier loading kits, if there was some sort of Midi Drum standard to work from. Changing Samples is not a problem, but when kits don’t follow the Midi Drum Standard things gets messy. I can browse through Battery Kits, …the Groove stays the same, only the samples change.
I hope in some Playbeat 4 future update that Midi pattern import, and maybe Battey Kits can be implemented.
I am glad to hear that a fully functional Playbeat 4 version is here, as I have been waiting for it’s release!
Exactly, this MIDI standard we need to follow, which means other mappings might not be compatible with PB4. We will have an answer to that soon.
