Gatelab automations not working when the plugin GUI is closed (Ableton)

I came across a similar issue here: existing thread. Although on ableton live 11.3.13 and gatelab version 1.1.3, automations are only working when the plugin GUI is open. Similar issue with Panflow as well. Can you please help with this issue.

Which version of the app are you using? AU, VST or VST3?
