I think your complexity slider needs some recalibration, it is generating too busy patterns on the low setting.
All the way to the left (0 %), an empty pattern is generated, as expected. Nudging this just slightly to 1-2 %, the patterns I get now are practically just as busy as when setting the slider to 90-100 %.
My testing was based on Smart mode where 2-3 presets in the minimal category had been marked. Patterns were quite busy, not very minimal.
Hi, this also depends on how many presets you’ve marked as ‘smart’ and their overall complexity. Would you mind sharing a few of them with us so we can take a closer look?
Even without Smart mode, here is just AI on with genre Minimal selected. Notice complexity is set to 1 %. Since 0 % gives an empty pattern, I was hoping 1% would give a much more sparse result than this rather busy pattern. I guess it is by design and not a bug (?), but I would suggest reconsidering this for very low complexity values.
Thanks for the details. Each mode and style uses a combination of algorithms, so the behavior may vary across different genres. I’d assume you’re not experiencing the same results in all genres, but thanks for pointing that out, we’ll look into this.
