Can I Record Patterns Live with Pads or a Keyboard?

Quick question:

Is it possible to record a pattern live in Playbeat 4 — for example, by playing it in real-time using pads or a MIDI keyboard, synced to the metronome? (not into the DAW, but into Playbeat…)

So far, I’ve only been able to program patterns with the mouse. But I’m working on a live setup, and I’ve seen similar workflows done with NI Maschine. I’m wondering if something like that is also possible with Playbeat 4, or if it’s simply not designed for that kind of input.

Otherwise, I’m super happy with the plugin and really enjoying it!

Hi, and thanks for reaching out. Currently this is not possible. While we did experiment with it during development, it didn’t make it into the final version of the app. We prioritize new features based on user demand, so if more users request it, we will consider adding it in the future.
