Playbeat 3 - Fixed Note Output

Hi Audiomodern,

Is it intentional to have the Pitch and the Fixed Note Output to be linked?

When I tested the Trial Version, some features were disabled, so couldn’t try out various workflows.

I wanted to use Playbeats Pattern Sequencer in conjunction to drive other drum machines, using a standard Drum map. This is not possible if the pitch doesn’t sound right in Playbeat…i.e C1 when the original pitch is C3.

Changing the pitch to C3 also changes the Fixed Note Output to C3, so the other Drum Machines are playing that note instead of C1 Kick Drum. I always thought Pitch and Note data were separate when dealing with Midi messages.

Hello Studiodbfx,

The real-time pitch shifting engine (Pitch tab) has been designed to apply pitch changes to imported samples, but of course we’re sending all pitch changed to the MIDI outputs as well.

If you need to feed another module/plugin via MIDI to a specific mapping you can tweak the outputs and also lock them while you are browsing through your presets.

Here’s how:

Thanks! :slightly_smiling_face: I saw this Youtube Video.

Seems the only way round this is to have 2 Playbeats running.

One for Playbeat 3 to play normally, and the other Playbeat driving other Drum Machines.
