Loopmix Drag And Drop in Logic

Thanks for the clarification,

First of all dragging audio directly from the DAW timeline will not work in any case, these are temporary files and not the actual audio, in such case you will need to export your audio loops first before importing them into Loopmix.

About dragging from Logic’s loop browser, if you are trying to import Loops from Logic’s default sound packs please note that these are encrypted .caf files which Loopmix doesn’t support and need to be converted to WAV, AIF or mp3 first before importing them.

Hope this helps.

Hi Max,

When I meant from the saw, I was referencing the loops from untagged loops, which are wav files.

I see that it can be done in ableton, but why can’t we have that feature in Logic Pro?

Can you confirm?

Wav files in Logic Pro cannot be dragged in? Even if they are untagged wav loops?

If they can, please explain how.

Hi joeydunn,

I just tried to replicate this on a few different setups but I was not able to do this, .wav samples can be dragged from the browser directly into loopmix without any problems. Is it possible that there is a security/permissions setting preventing you to do this on your setup?

Has there been any development or additional troubleshooting about this issue? You cannot drag and drop samples from Logic Pro’s Loop Browser or Tracks area into Loopmix. However, the Loopmix User Manual and official Complete Overview tutorial video say you can do this from any DAW. If the reason that you can’t do this in Logic Pro is that these audio files (.caf) are unsupported by Loopmix, it would seem you should revise the user manual to say “drag and drop from any DAW… except Logic Pro”. is it just impossible to support these .caf files for import? Can Audiomodern update Loopmix to perform automatic conversion of .caf files to a supported audio file type so that Logic Pro users are able to have the same functionality as with other DAWs?

You can import any audio file from Logic’s browser directly into Loopmix; however, .caf files are encrypted, and unfortunately, we’re unable to work around this restriction.
