Another vote for Tool Tips here. It just makes stuff easier to use and learn. We all have so many tools at our disposal these days that it’s impossible for us to know what every button on every tool does and it’s hard to Google “what does the little squiggly button do?” because we don’t know the name of the button.
If you don’t want to do traditional Tool Tips you could have a switchable “info area” like Studio One or FL Studio (and probably some others). With the option enabled the info area tells you something useful about anything the mouse cursor passes over .
+1 for tool tips . I’d love to be able to hover above parameters and get a brief description. I absolutely love the potential of the audio modern tools but find that I need to have a manual or video tutorial handy whenever I return to them .
It would truly be incredibly helpful to have info displayed within the plug in about the icons for the parameters .
Thanks for your consideration
The Audiomodern Team thinks tooltips are not urgrent. What? Why not making software GUI easy as possible to understand (so the way to be creative is very shorten). For me i use Playbeat not every day and every time i will using it i must open the pdf or the video tutorial. That’s a bit annoying and interrupts the creative flow. With XO from XLN i didn’t have this issue. The bottom quick help helps great here and XO feels a bit more complex for me.
There are some tiny cryptic icons which are sometimes clear to understand but the context is missing for me how it works with Playbeat.
Also what it makes a bit harder that the font is a bit to small and too less contrast everywhere.
Ohh and plugin windows size is not remembered in Bitwig!
And don’t make feature announcements for the next release again if it can’t be handled for the Am team! We have now June 2024 and still no quick help.
But hey, we have now a super duper fancy AI pattern generation system called SMART™ Algorithm. (sry for sarkasm, the SMART™ Algorithm can be truely handy )
We agree with this. Tooltips are available for our latest app, Freezr and I can confirm that are available for the next updates for all of our apps which we currently beta testing, as well as for all upcoming apps. Unfortunately due to an unrelated issue we had to roll back the changes made regarding the tooltips in 3.1.6 but will be there soon.
