Playbeat 4 as Midi FX in Logic - Note Assignments Vanish when Preset Changes

In Logic, I have Playbeat 4 in the midi FX slot, with output note assignments for Goran Grooves and midi channels 1 thru 8. It works. I get sound from all 8 lanes. I save the preset (although it won’t let me change the name)

If I hit ‘Random’ I get a new pattern, but no sound. Checking the note output assignments - still correct. Hmmm… why no sound?

If I select a different preset, the output note assignments all revert back to C3! Dang it!

If I re-load my saved preset, output note assignments are back. I can play and hear the original pattern. I can modify that single pattern by selecting squares in the sequencer, but the moment I choose random, I get no sound.

Just trying to understand the limitations to using Playbeat 4 in the Midi FX slot of Logic with different drum instruments, like Goran Grooves, or the Logic Drum Kit Designer. If I can’t use the random midi generation - it’s not very useful.

Ah, Random replaces all the pitch data back to C3. Despite the output note assignments. Is there a way to have random not replace the pitch data?

Can you please make sure that you are using the latest 4.0.7 version? you can download it directly from here:
