Hi All. Congratulations on Playbeat 4, the new features are excellent so excited to get some tracks going. For me saving and triggering ‘Remixes’ and sequencing them from the DAW is game changing. I have run into an issue with this though. It seemed to be working but now every time I close and reopen the PB window they disappear. I’m running Ableton 12 on Windows.
Also, I setup my fixed MIDI output notes to trigger a drum machine. Having clicked ‘Lock MIDI Outputs’ (turns red) I’m finding when hitting the Global Randomization button they sometimes seem to be overwritten. With the Pitch ‘power button’ turned off all the pitch values change as well.
Any assistance greatly appreciated. Cheers.
Same on Mac with any host
Apologies for this! Version 4.0.2 is already available that fixes this issue.
About the remix section, there was an issue when reloading the state from the DAW, but they are correctly recalled when reloading the preset. Expect a 4.0.3 update by tomorrow.
Yes, it does this in Reason 12, Win 10. Like above, PB4, saves remixes within the patch. Open and close device removes them. Thank You for updates
Another open and close issue is with the Randomize options. If PB4 is set to Random and then I switch to Smart then Smart is only highlighted, but when I open n’ close the device then both Random and Smart are highlighted. Open and close device and they both remain on so pressing Remix un-highlights both Random and Smart. Open and close device and Remix stays on.
The same thing occurs with Remix highlighted first then switch to Smart and all is ‘normal’ then o & c device and both remain on until I switch to Random then Random remains on when I open and close… Hope this makes sense, thank you.
Hi, thanks. 4.0.2 seems to have solved the ‘lock midi’ issue.
Was a bit confused about ‘there was an issue’ with remixes as it still seems to be the case.
My understanding is that this is being addressed in 4. 0.3 today? Is that still correct? Got a live performance tomorrow so would have to do things another way but don’t want to wait up all night reconfiguring if that’s not the case. Cheers
I know it’s not ideal, but as it is, if you keep the plugin window open they will stay there. They will also load with the preset, just don’t close the window once you open it.
Good luck with your show, hope everything goes smoothly for you
Hi, version 4.0.3 will be available today. In the meantime, I’ve sent you access to this version via PM. Wishing you a great performance!
Many thanks for your help. In 4.0.3 the remix section now seems to be working. However, locking MIDI outputs now isn’t. A saved preset and Ableton file with customised MIDI outputs now resorts back to C3 for each Track when reopening the file.
HI, I purchased from Plugin Boutique but 4.0.3 isn’t showing.
Best Regards
I’m still seeing 4.0.2 under the downloads section
Where exactly am I getting 4.0.3 from?
Hi, 4.0.3 is now available on our site and will be live on our resellers and the App Store later today. We’ll likely have a series of updates this week to address issues across different setups, so a change-log thread is on the way.
Issue with Remixes disappearing and 2 randomize options remaining on instead of 1 when we open and close device are fixed.
Not sure if this was lost in the thread but locking MIDI outputs is not working in 4.0.3, though I believe worked in 4.0.2. Reopening an Ableton file with a saved preset all tracks revert to C3. Thanks
Thought I would update, I actually now have my MIDI out notes saving with the file/preset. The fixed note toggle is on but crucially the ‘Lock MIDI Outputs’ is grey not red. If it’s red they revert back to C3 when reopening the file. If it’s grey they stay as I have set them up for a Drum Rack eg. C1 C#1 etc. Not sure if it’s the way my brain reads it but I thought if the button was highlighted red that would mean locked (I’m sure it was before)? It’s working anyway. Cheers.
Thanks for your update. I am using standalone and VST3 in Win10 and Reason Studios 12
What is your set up, tegular12? So folks know that it works on their set up if it is the same as yours.
Easy
*Edit - I see up top you are using Ableton in Windows… what versions of these my friend?
Hi, I’m on Windows 11 & Ableton 12.1.10. I have just tried the standalone app. Using standalone the MIDI outputs seem to stick regardless if ‘Lock MIDI Outputs’ is toggled. So you could try, opening the app, creating and saving a new user preset, changing one of fixed note outputs to be something other than C3, save the preset, close and reopen the app and load the preset. Has the MIDI note you changed remained the same? If not try toggling the ‘Lock MIDI Output’ button and see if you get a different result.
Thanks mate… Yeah just tried STANDALONE fixed note output other than C3, save, o & c and load preset and it saves as expected. The same goes for lock midi output, all good on WIN10.
