AU insstallation issue

Hi, I just installed the trial version and checked it out in Logic 10.5. I really liked it so I bought the full version from Plugin Boutique. After installation, I can see the component in the folder, but Logic is not detecting the AU. Live cannot see it either, although Live works with the VST. Can you please tell me how to make it work in Logic?
Best regards,
Justin

Hello Justin,

Thanks for reaching out.
1. Can you please tell us which is the app that produces the issue?
2. Have you removed the Trial version from your Computer(s)?

You simply need to remove/trash the “_Trial” files from the location(s) below:

The AU plugin is at location:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components

The VSTs are at locations:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST
and
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3

The AAX plugin is at:
/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins

If you still have the same issue then you will need to refresh Logic’s Audio Unit cache.

  1. In the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder from the menu.
  2. Type ~/Library/Caches in the “Go to the folder” field.
  3. Press the Go button
  4. Remove the “com.apple.audiounits.cache” file.
  5. Remove the ~/Library/Caches/AudioUnitCache folder

The next time you start Logic, the installed Audio Unit plug-ins will be re-scanned and Logic should then startup normally.

3. Do a ‘fresh’ re-install of the app.
4. If it is one of our MIDI Apps, on Logic Pro it should be listed under the MIDI FX slot as described on the manual.

Let us know how this goes.

Hi,

Thanks for the super-fast response!

It was Chordjam, sorry.

I removed the plugins, and weirdly, Logic still seemed to see the trial version, and could even open it, despite the fact that it was not in the Components folder. I deleted the cache folder and all is good!

Many thanks!

Justin

Glad to hear this helped!
