Soundbox 1.0.7 doesn't work in Cubase 14 pro

Hi all. I am a new user of Audiomodern products. I bought a lot of soundsets and tools by them and start to install. English is not my language. I usually speak French but I will try to speak with you in English. Sorry if there are some mistakes.

I just inatll now Soundbox 1.0.7. In standalone mode Soundbox is working fine. I can play with my Komplete Kontrol S61 and the sound is ok.

But… In my DAW (Cubase 14 pro) it is impossible to put some notes on the grid and to make them play as I usually do with all my other VST. Soundbox is well routed to the stereo output. When I play a note with the master keyboard I hear it in my headphones. But when the DAW is running, the notes aren’t played…

Another thing very strange : when I open Soundbox in standalone mode I have access on the above right corner to a MIDI section that doesn’t appear in Soundbox when it is opened in Cubase… And this is precisely where you can choose the MIDI input I think. I try to upload a screenshot to show you.

I completely uninstalled Soundbox 1.0.7 by removing all in the right folder (MacOS) and reinstalled it but the problem wasn’t solved.

EDIT : same problem with Playbeat 4 : the notes in the piano roll aren’t played.

Hello @Dart thanks for reaching out, and sorry to hear you’re having trouble.

Have you loaded Soundbox into an instrument track? Also, which version are you using, VST3 or AU? Do you experience the same issue with both versions?

MIDI inputs aren’t available in plugin mode, as they are determined by your DAW and the input you select for the track where Soundbox is loaded.

Hi, I use the mac version available on the products section of your store (Mac version). I am on a Mac studio computer with Ventura installed on it and a M1 ultra chip. I don’t remember if the type of version ( VST3 or AU) is asked during the install so I guess I use the VST3 version.

When I load Soundbox I add an instrument track. A dialog box opens and there I can select Soundbox in the list. Like this :

I can also add Soundbox via the VST instruments menu of Cubase but the result is the same. Cubase creates an instrument track.

Everytime I use on of these methods (that work with all my VST for years) I see Soundbox , I can open it, I can play with the master keyboard the preset that I have chosen but Cubase can’t read the notes in MIDI. And as I said some features are missing in the MIDI section.

How do you suggest to load Soundbox in Cubase? Maybe I do something wrong…

We can’t see any issue. Soundbox can be loaded as an instrument (see attached picture)

And when using an instrument track, you can play it like an instrument, record the MIDI, and then hear your recorded performance by playing back the MIDI on the same channel.

Is it possible that you have any special configuration on your midi in/out routing which may cause an issue?

Arr you sure your products are compatible with silicon chips ? I have a mac studio equiped with m1 ultra.

Well… Good news : it works! Not through an instrument track as I usually do but via the VST instruments rack. I never work by adding a rack in this section because it creates some additional tracks in Cubase. As Halion Sonic 7, loaded by default.

Whatever… It wotks. And this the most important. I have to slightly change the way I manage ma session but It is not dramatic.
