Today I went into my AudioModern account to see if there was an update for Playbeat 4 for MacOs and I found Playbeat 4.2.2. After trying to install it it threw up a warning as thus:
“Playbeat 4.2.2 (macOS).pkg” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.
I tried it on my MacMini M1 (Monterey) and MacMini M4 (Sequoia) and neither of them worked. What gives?
They forgot to sign the last version install package, so your Mac thinks you are trying to run an application from an unknown developer. They’ll fix it with the next version. In the meantime, you can get around this. After trying to install Playbeat and getting the message, go to your System Settings>Privacy & Security and scroll down to where it says “Open Anyway” and click that. Say you are sure a few times and then proceed to install Playbeat like normal.
Thanks very much for the reply and I followed the instructions you have given and it does work now. Much appreciated!
