Playbeat 3.2.8 won’t run. I tried it on July 15. I installed it 3 times. I’ve had 3.2.7 running since June 11. I use Windows 10. I install this and many other audio things on drive D: instead of C:. I only install the standalone and the VST3 not the VST. Nothing happens if I click to run 3.2.8 standalone. The shortcut is pointing to the correct drive, directory and file. It all works when I reinstall 3.2.7. There’s the standalone, and I tried the 3.2.8 VST3 too in Nektarine. It did not run. It exited or possibly crashed Nektarine.

To make it short: try installing the latest visual c++ redist packs from Microsoft, you can find them here >> Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads | Microsoft Learn
The ones under “Latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Version”, where it says “The latest version is 14.40.33810.0”

btw I got Nektarine as well and couldn’t run Playbeat in it either. In fact Playbeat didn’t run anywhere anymore lol. But installing those packs (both versions, x86 and x64) solved it for me.

Thanks. I think I had that Visual C++ redistributable already, but I installed it or re-installed it anyway. 3.2.8 still won’t run. I’ll reinstall 3.2.7.
Hmm, this s**ks of course.
So you got version 14.40.33810.0 of the “msvcp140.dll” in your System32 and SysWOW64 folders and Playbeat still isn’t working?
Then you probably need to provide more infos, like crashlogs or what error message the Windows event viewer spits out when you’re trying to run the standalone. Hard to tell for anyone without knowing what’s going on.
Not sure if installing to D: instead of C: plays any role here. Probably not, unless Audiomodern introduced something new in that regard with v3.2.8.

It works now. I had to look closer at the x86 and x64 links and install the x64 one. I glanced and assumed the 64 one would be the top one, but that one is x86. I still had 14.39.something in the 64 bit Windows\System folder. The 14.40.33810.0 one made it work.Thanks.

@JDB Apologies for the confusion, it seems that latest Windows update hasn’t included the C++ Redistributable which is required by Playbeat 3.2.8 to run.
