# Question on note entry in Riffer using a MIDI keyboard

Apologies if this is a repeated question or addressed someplace else, but I couldn’t find anything on it when searching the forum or documentation.  
In Riffer 3, is there a way to enter notes for each step using a MIDI keyboard, instead of choosing them via the screen interface or generating randomly? I saw another question about importing existing MIDI data (with a response that this feature is being planned for v. 4), but I’m looking for direct input that could be entered step-by-step (or entered live as a sequence is playing) from an external keyboard.

Hi rpath,

Thank you for reaching out. At the moment this is not possible but we will check if we can add this option along with the MIDI import feature coming up with V4.
