# Playbeat 4 Midi Out Different Pitch?

I was wondering if Playbeat can output midi channels so that I can send different pitches of the 8 midi outs to other instruments, for ex, let’s say I have my Ableton channels with different samples set up, I would like to have PB send out midi messages with pitches so that the snare, percs, or hats can also play the different pitches, basically a midi out like instruments such as how Kontakt do. Can PB do this? This would be cool if it doesn’t as I have different templates set up already and so this can avoid me having to keep loading samples directly into PB already every time I want to use it.

It should, but it doesn’t work/is broken. There’s a few posts mentioning it, including one that I started.

Version 4.0.4 is now available, featuring improvements to MIDI and save state issues. You can definitely do that, detailed instructions are provided towards the end of the manual, showcasing this in various DAWs.
